End of Winter Student Wind-up

The ladies had been practicing and focusing and tonight was the night they would perform the beginner’s choreography in front of family, friends, husbands, partners and the general public.  Held at the Fibonacci Roastery and Café, the evening was warm and welcoming and once we got everyone fed, the fun began.  A couple of my students who were quite sure they were not going to perform, made my night by changing their minds while practicing

It was great to see her let go and have fun.  She really listens well and interprets the music.  I was fortunate to also have Linda from Kelowna join us for a couple of numbers which were lovely, as always and I so appreciate you coming out. This time I had two students from Kelowna, newcomers to entertain us.   Thanks to Maureen and Shannon who shook what their mamma gave’em.

After doing a couple of numbers myself, we all got together for group dancing to Lee’s drumming and then, since he was tired-out and we weren’t, to some of my collection of belly dance party music.  I’m very proud of  my students who got up and let loose.  That is what’s important.  I always say, studying is one thing, but dancing is totally something else altogether.  So, to you ladies, congratulations!  Thanks for sharing a part of yourselves during our classes and allowing yourselves to feel truly what you are:  beautiful.

with the others in the hallway. I think they were courageous and plus, why not have fun and do it anyway!  Theirs was the first in the evening’s line-up. I like to have the beginners start, so they can relax for the rest of the evening and stop
worrying about which foot goes where.

They were  marvelous and you’d have thought they even enjoyed showing off! My friend Camille followed and did a fabulous solo piece which she choreographed herself.
